Why do service first?

You may ask yourself why would i do service first in CAS?

Well, that's because it's the area of CAS that I identify myself most right now. Over the years that I've been on school they've made us go do some service work in some of the towns nearby the school and honestly for me it's one of the most delightful feelings when you can help people that are in need. I adore the expression on the girl's faces when we get to the place to start with their activities. I've helped the same girls for two years and I feel proud of the improvement in the girl's personalities and school grades, because you know that all that was possible with your help.

These girls become less and less shyer around you every time and after just a few months you feel that they are your little sisters. And to see how they come to care for you so much as you come to care about them. Some girls show so much affection towards you at the end of the year, making you feel that all those extra hours that you spend with them make it so worth it.

I think charity work does you greater good sometimes that it does to them, because you realize how much you can give of yourself and how you can help others in such little things but they still make it seem as if you just gave them the whole world in their hands.

That's what I love about service, if you just give the kids you're helping just a little piece of your heart they can sometimes bestow you all of theirs.
